Got 13 laps in at the pool yesterday. making 70 for the week. Fully intended to get in at least another 10 today, which would have made 2 kilometres since Monday (hurray, put out more flags!). Then, in the sauna I heard the dreaded French expression 'long week-end'. Yes, it's Pentecost, so the bloody pool's closed on Sunday and Monday. I know: closing the pool on holidays is like closing the cafe for lunch. Soddit, I'll just have to make do with some low impact Wi.
. . . Just got back from the Wi machine. I've lost rather more than a kilo this week, and my 'Wi fit age' is now about half my chronological age - still bloody old by most standards then.
Weather perfect. Keep thinking of going for a walk. Don't worry, it's not going to happen. Feet (and ankles) more blue than purple today (wonder how I got them pink the other day?); toes hardly feel hammered at all; soles, for the most part, really sensitive rather than painful, with only one really nasty piece of glass digging into the right foot half way down the RHS. By the way, my right foot and ankle have been much fatter than my left since I had an episode of deep vein thrombosis a few years back. I got that after playing a complete round of golf, having already realised my shoes were way too tight - I know, don't tell me - I think that's what led to the 'massive' pulmonary embolism. I think the fat feet and ankles are called oedema (no, it's never caused any pain to the soles of my feet before).
Back to the Wi!
